Quick Way to Find a Major

Using the Codes

Instructions for using the codes to find a major

• Go to:  masscis.intocareers.org
• Click on Adult
• Scroll down and choose your City
• Type in Zip Code
• Click on Sign In
• Scroll down to Assessment Tools 
• Click on Assessment Link
• Click on O*NET Interest Profiler (IP)
• Click on Primary Interest Area
• Click on the Primary Interest Area(s) in which you scored the highest (Artistic, Conventional, Enterprising, Investigative, Realistic, or Social)
• Click on one of the Related CIS Occupation(s)
• Review Overview
• Click on Employment and Outlook and review information
• Click on Wages and review information
• Click on Preparation and review information
• Scroll down to Related Information
• Click on Programs of Study
• Choose one of the Programs of Study Related to This Occupation or Other Programs to Consider
• Review Overview
• Scroll down to Related Information
• Click on Mass Schools
• Click on Central Massachusetts
• Choose one of the colleges/universities and go to their website to explore their offerings

Note:  Be sure to view the videos that are available for most occupations. 
Watching the videos is the next-best thing to job shadowing.
