PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
- The MWCC 2016 Commencement is a TICKETED event. Guests without tickets may access seating in an enclosed tent to the exterior of the MWCC Fitness & Wellness Center.
- Ticketed guests should plan their admission to the MWCC Fitness Center from 5:00 – 5:45 p.m. No entry will be allowed during the Commencement processional from 6:00 – 6:20 p.m.
- No children’s strollers will be permitted into the MWCC Fitness Center.
- Guests should be prepared for bag searches prior to entry into the MWCC Fitness Center. Backpacks and other duffle bags are prohibited.
All guests (age 3 and older) entering the Fitness & Wellness Center are required to have a ticket. Children 2 and younger will be permitted entry without a ticket and will be expected to sit on a ticket-holder’s lap.
Guests without tickets will be directed to the tent located just behind the Fitness & Wellness Center. Commencement will be simulcast in the tent. Tickets are not required for the tent, but seating is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

“Project Graduation” Food Drive
The MWCC chapter of Phi Theta Kappa is sponsoring the 11th annual “Project Graduation” in conjunction with the 2016 Commencement ceremony. All graduates and their guests are requested to bring a non-perishable food item to the Commencement rehearsal or ceremony. Receptacles will be located at the Fitness Center and all donations will be given to the Gardner Community Action Committee in Gardner at the conclusion of the event.
All graduating students are welcome to the Alumni table tomorrow for free swag, including “I <3 MWCC” glasses, and “MWCC ALUMNI” t-shirts. To get a t-shirt, you must post to Instagram, Facebook or Twitter using the hashtag #MWCC2016 and show it to us at the table. We’ll also be taking lots of photos, so bring your best smile!
Special Seating and Parking for Guests with Disabilities
Parking Lot E (see parking and directions below) will be reserved for those with disabilities and will be available for parking beginning an hour before commencement. Reserved seating near the exit is available for those guests requiring it. Please indicate this information when you pick up your Commencement tickets. Guests who need seating accommodations will receive a special ticket labeled “Disability Seating”.

From Fitchburg and points east:
Route 2 West to Route 140 North (Exit 24B) in Westminster, just past Tyco plant on right (50 miles from Boston). Exit sign reads “140 North to Winchendon and Ashburnham.” Proceed three miles on this route. You will pass through two traffic lights. Proceed one-half mile past the second light and take a left turn onto Matthews Street. The college entrance is one mile on the right.
From Western and Central Massachusetts:
Route 2 East to Route 140 North (Exit 24) in Westminster. Turn left at the end of the exit ramp. Proceed three miles on this route. You will pass though two traffic lights. Proceed one-half mile past the second light and take a left turn onto Matthews Street. The college entrance is one mile on the right.
From Worcester and Providence:
I-190 North from Worcester. From I-190, take Route 2 West to Route 140 North (Exit 24B) in Westminster, just past Tyco plant on right. Exit sign reads “140 North to Winchendon and Ashburnham.” Proceed one-half mile past the second light and take a left turn onto Matthews Street. The college entrance is one mile on the right.
From points north:
Route 12 South to Route 140 South. Bear right onto Green Street. The college is one-half mile on the left.
Immediately following the commencement ceremony, the college will host a reception for graduates, their family, friends, and college faculty and staff. The location of the reception will be in the south cafeteria; refreshments will be served. There is no charge for the reception.
Flowers for your Graduate
Windmill Florist & Gifts will be located outside of the Fitness and Wellness Center with assorted fresh cut flowers and assorted rose bouquets available for purchase.
In case of inclement weather they will be set up inside the Fitness and Wellness Center by the vending area to the left as you walk in.
They will also be set up the following evening for the Nurses Pinning Ceremony on Thursday, May 19, 2016.
The official commencement photographer (Commencement Photos, Inc.) will be taking pictures of each graduate at the ceremony and will contact each graduate directly regarding the purchase of prints.
