Pre-Healthcare Academy

MWCC’s Pre-Healthcare Academy invites 2017 and 2018 high school graduates to apply for this opportunity to gain access into MWCC’s competitive health programs. Students in this program maintaining a 3.3 GPA may enter the Dental Hygiene Degree, Physical Therapist Assistant Degree or Nursing Degree during the fall semester of their second year. Benefits of this program include access to MWCC’s highly competitive healthcare programs, the opportunity to become a healthcare provider in three years, options to transfer into some bachelor degree programs and participation in specialized learning communities to complete your pre-requisite coursework.

STEM Starter Academy

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts is supporting students who are enrolling in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) disciplines at Mount Wachusett Community College. STEM majors for the Summer Academy include; Allied Health, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Information Systems, Earth Systems, Fire Science, Graphic & Interactive Design, Exercise and Sports Science, Manufacturing Technology, Medical Laboratory Technology, Natural Resources, Physics, Pre-Engineering, and Pre-Pharmacy. Accepted students will receive a stipend of up to $1,000 and will be enrolled in up to two free college courses. Books will be provided for use during the Academy. Daily academic support, including tutoring and mandated study hours, will occur in order to assist students on their career paths. Finally, students will be expected to participate in all field trips and the Summer Leadership Academy.
