All students at MWCC are eligible to apply for student financial assistance. Each year, the office of financial aid assists full-time and part-time, day and evening students, to obtain funds available from federal, state, and campus sources to make the educational programs at MWCC affordable.
Each year, many students do not apply for financial aid because they “think” they are ineligible, or are misinformed about the student financial assistance regulations and procedures. Please take the time to complete the application.
To become eligible for financial aid, you must:
- Complete the Free Application for Financial Student Aid (FAFSA) www.fafsa.ed.gov
- Be accepted in a degree or certificate program
- Be a US citizen or permanent resident
- Demonstrate financial need
- Maintain satisfactory progress according to college policy.
In some cases, the Director of Financial Aid may adjust the income information used to calculate your Expected Family Contribution (EFC) to take into account special circumstances. These circumstances could include a family’s unusual medical or dental expenses, or a tuition expense for children attending a private elementary or secondary school. Also, an adjustment may be made if you, your spouse, or either of your parents (if applicable) have been recently unemployed. If conditions such as these apply to you or your family, please fill out the Special Circumstances Form available on the Financial Aid Documents page or contact the Financial Aid Office.
