The Graphic & Interactive Design department has two Macintosh-based computer labs with state of the art Apple iMac computers and one lab with Windows-based computers. One Macintosh lab has 27″ iMacs while the other has 21.5″ iMacs. A fourth smaller lab is available for students to meet, brainstorm and work together; 5 additional iMacs are available to students to complete their coursework in this quiet environment. Two computer lab assistants are readily available to students throughout the day for hands-on support with all of their project needs including one-on-one tutoring, critique, and printing.
There are two printers available to students in the GID labs. One is a black and white HP LaserJet printer for proofing design work, and a second printer, a Xerox Phaser 7800GX industry-standard color printer, is available for printing final color comps. This color printer can print duplex and up to tabloid-extra (12 x 18) sized documents.
Each computer is equipped with the latest version of the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Acrobat XI Pro, Flash, and Muse) along with an Extensis Universal Type Server to manage an extensive font library. A wide range of helpful, industry standard third party tools and applications are also available to fully prepare students for the field of graphic, web and interactive design.
