What
do you do in your current position?
I guide children in the learning process
through play
and hands on activities, offer a developmentally appropriate curriculum
basked upon childrens
interests and needs, and focus on family involvement.
In addition,I mentor other teachers, including MWCC student teachers,
assisting them in developing their
own skills.
Do you like it?
Working with families and watching children
learn and grow is very rewarding and satisfying.
What did you like about MWCCs Early
Childhood Education program?
I always looked forward to my Early Childhood
Education classes and practicum. I found them to be positive,
fun,and rewarding experiences that helped
me decide that teaching preschool was definitely the career I
wanted to pursue.
Do you feel that your education at
MWCC adequately prepared you?
I have found that what I learned directly
relates to what

Why
did you choose to study Early
Childhood Education?
I love children and felt that I wanted to
pursue a career
working with them.
Why MWCCs Early Childhood
Education program?
I chose MWCC because I heard positive feedback
about the program. Also, it was more affordable, which economically
suited my needs. The associate degree
gave me insight into the teaching field, helping
me to prepare to pursue my bachelors degree.
Would you suggest this program to others?
Yesmost definitely. MWCCs program
provides a
great head start: what is taught in the classroom directly relates
to the career; the program is tailored to address each students
individual needs; the classes offer hands on learning experiences;
and the professors are
great mentors.
What are your future goals and aspirations?
I am currently Director II qualified through
the Office
of Child Care Services. I plan on continuing my
education towards a bachelors degree.
