MWCC offers open admissions and applications are processed in the order they are received. This means that most programs do not have an application deadline, but we suggest submitting your application well in advance of the semester in which you wish to enroll. You can then complete assessment testing in a timely manner and benefit from the best selection of courses.
General Admissions
MWCC has an open admissions policy; all individuals who have at least one of the following qualifications are welcome to enroll in non-selective programs on a space available basis:
- Diploma from accredited high school
- General Education Development (GED) certificate
- HS Diploma or GED or ATB (Ability to Benefit) AND College-level credits earned at other accredited colleges/universities
- International students who meet college and federal requirements
Selective Programs
Admission to MWCC does not guarantee admission to all programs. Based upon their assessment results and program objectives, students may be admitted conditionally and required to take developmental and/or prerequisite courses. In addition, special admissions requirements have been established for selective programs which require that students possess prior college level skills and knowledge.
These include: Clinical Laboratory Science, Complementary Health Care/Massage Therapy, Dental Hygiene, Nursing, Practical Nursing, and Physical Therapist Assistant.
Steps to applying to selective programs:
- Students interested in a selective program must complete required prerequisites before applying to the program. Start by filling out a general application (see above);
- you will be accepted as a “General Studies” students until prerequisites are completed;
- then apply to the selective program of your choice.
