John L. Pacheco, 1980 – present
On my very first day as an adjunct drawing teacher at the Mount in 1980, the then Dean of Humanities, Aspasia Anastos, informed me that the full-time painting teacher had not shown up to teach his classes and that I should take over his duties. President Halley interviewed me and approved my “field promotion.” Thirty-two years later I’m still the painting teacher. My life at the Mount has provided me with the opportunity to raise a family of six children, continue my career as an artist and work at a job that is ever stimulating and always rewarding. I consider my years at Mount Wachusett Community College the richest of blessings, and the wonderful colleagues and students I’ve met a gift from God.
