General Applications

If you are a new student or transfer student, this application is for you. Our free online application takes abou10-15 minutes to complete and we don’t require an essay!

This application is for those students who are applying from a country other than the United States (F1 Student VISA). 

Application Deadlines

  • May 15 for Fall (September) admission 
  • November 1 for Spring (January) admission 

International Requirements

  1. Complete MWCC International Student Admission Application
  2. An official copy of secondary/high school record or foreign equivalent - submitted as originals OR certified copies. If documents are not in English, an official translation must be submitted along with your documents. Foreign documents must be evaluated and translated by a US evaluation company like the Spantran - MWCC Pathway (offers discounted services), Center for Educational Documentation (CED) or World Education Services (WES). A list of additional evaluation services is available at www.naces.org/members
  3. If English is not the official language of your home country and you have not yet completed a college-level English course, you are required to provide proof of your English proficiency:
    1. Official TOEFL scores sent directly from Educational Testing Service www.ets.org/toefl OR
    2. Official IELTS score sent to us directly from www.ielts.org.
  4. Copy of your current I-20, as well as any previous I-20s issued to you, if applicable.
  5. Copy of your current visa and I-94 card, as well as any extensions or previous changes of visa status since your last entry into the United States if applicable.
  6. Official Affidavit of Financial Support with accompanying evidence for each funding source (bank statements or a certified letter from the bank) showing possession of the minimum amount listed on the affidavit.
  7. Copy of Passport
  8. If you are transferring from another US institution, you must submit a completed I-20 transfer authorization form.
  9. International students applying to a selective program at MWCC must also submit the appropriate selective program application in addition to their other requirements.

Avoid Delays - To avoid delays in processing your application, complete all items required in legible handwriting. Make sure the name on your application matches the names on your transcripts. Provide all required documentation prior to the deadline.

Special Opportunities

The applications below are available to those who have already completed the general application above.

MWCC's Pre-Healthcare Academy provides 2021 and 2022 high school graduates an opportunity to gain access into MWCC's competitive health programs. High school graduates in this program who maintain a 3.0 GPA may enter the Dental Hygiene Degree, Physical Therapist Assistant Degree or Nursing Degree programs during the fall semester of their second year.


Students entering certain STEM majors at MWCC in the fall are eligible to apply for this program. Accepted students will receive a stipend of up to $1,000 and will be enrolled in up to two free college courses (book use included). Students will receive daily academic support, including tutoring and mandated study hours.

HCOP Catalyst College is for current MWCC students enrolled in an allied health major or a major that articulates to a bachelor's degree in an allied health field.

  • Year-long
  • Be one of 20 students who have an interest in healthcare professions or are enrolled at MWCC in allied health programs or transfer programs that lead to a bachelor’s degree in our year-long program.

HCOP Catalyst High School a year-long program for rising high school juniors and seniors at Athol, Fitchburg or Gardner High Schools.HCOP High School

  • Students from Athol, Fitchburg or Gardner High School who have an interest in healthcare will be introduced to allied/behavioral health career fields through high school coursework, ultimately preparing them for a healthcare career major at MWCC.
  • This program gives students the opportunity to take free dual enrollment courses for college credit.
  • Earn up to a $1,500 scholarship to cover tuition, fees, books and other educational expenses at MWCC.

HCOP Catalyst Immersion is a 5-Week Summer program and is for incoming students already enrolled at MWCC.

Selective Program Applications

While Mount Wachusett Community College is an open enrollment college, some of our programs have additional requirements. These are called “selective” programs.

How to Apply to a Selective Program

  1. Attend a mandatory Information Session
  2. Download the appropriate application below
  3. Request transcripts from all colleges other than MWCC
  4. Bring or mail your completed* packet to the Gardner Campus Office of Admissions by the application deadline

*Incomplete applications will not be reviewed. Transcripts and other required documents should be attached to your application file. Deadlines and requirements are listed on the application. If something is in transit from a third party (like transcripts), please note this on your application.

What do I need to enroll in the Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) Program?

  • TEAS Exam: Complete within 3 years with the following minimum scores:

AS Nursing 2022 Application

What is required for Advanced Standing in Nursing program?

  • Deadline: November 1st
  • LPN License or Completion of NUR 111
  • TEAS Exam: Complete within 3 years
    • Math (63.3%)
    • Science (45.8%)

    • Reading (69.0%)
  • Required Courses are outlined within the application.

AS Nursing Advanced Standing 2022 Application

(Allows students that have already completed the equivalent of MWCC’s NUR111 to immediately enter second-semester nursing courses.)

What do I need to Bridge from LPN to RN?

  • Deadline: November 15th
  • A Current LPN License with a minimum of 6 months of experience
  • TEAS Exam: Complete within 3 years
    • Math (63.3%)
    • Science (45.8%)
    • English (60.0%)
    • Reading (69.0%)
  • Required Courses: Complete before applying
    • MAT143 – Statistics (or equivalent): Complete with a C+ or higher (<10 years)
    • BIO 203 – Anatomy & Physiology I: Complete with a C+ or higher (<10 years)
    • ENG 101 – College Writing I: Complete with a C+ or higher
    • PSY 105 – Intro to Psychology: Complete with a C+ or higher

  • LPN to RN Bridge Program Details
  • For currently licensed LPNs (in good standing, with six months of work experience). Credit is given for NUR111 allowing applicants to immediately enter second-semester nursing courses. Demonstrated proficiency in Maternity and Pediatrics may be considered for exemption from NUR115.
  • Prepare to sit for the National Council Licensure Exam for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN). MWCC students historically achieve high pass rates.

  • Required Courses - complete prior to applying
    • MAT 143 – Statistics (or equivalent): Complete with a C+ or higher (<10 years)

    • 4-Credit human biological Science: Complete with a C+ or higher (<10 years)

What do I need to enroll in the Paramedic Technology Program?

  • Deadline: April 1, 2022
  • EMT certification (current): Basic and/or Advanced
  • 75 documented patient contact: (minimum) or one-year experience as Basic or Advanced EMT

All applicants for Gateway to College must attend an info session and complete the online application. Please call 978-630-9248 to sign up for an information session.

Please note that the essay portions will be used to determine English placement and should reflect your best writing skills.  All materials should be emailed to gateway@mwcc.mass.edu.

Pathways Early College Experience Application 2021

Mount Wachusett Community College (MWCC) has partnered with three high schools in Fitchburg and Leominster Massachusetts to recruit 120 9th graders with an interest in healthcare professions to enter a Workforce Diversity Pipeline program.

Talent Search offers services to six hundred ninety-five (695) individuals, primarily in grades six through twelve, of whom at least two-thirds must be income eligible and potential first-generation college students.

The school districts targeted in the grant include:
