MWCC’s High School Junior Symposium Returns

MWCC’s High School Junior Symposium Returns

Mount Wachusett Community College’s Division of Access and Transition welcomed nearly 100 area high school juniors for the first annual Juniors Symposium since the pandemic put such events on hold in 2020.

Ramon Gonzalez, Senior Director of College Access, and LeaAnn Scales, Vice President of Enrollment and Public Affairs kicked off the event, which is aimed at preparing teens for college and the choices they will be facing as they head into senior year of high school.

Students from Athol, Clinton, Gardner, Leominster, Murdock, and Narragansett Regional High Schools as well as the Sizer School attended seminars on applying to colleges and universities led by the Admissions department, seeking financial aid and scholarships led by Student Financial Services, and dual enrollment opportunities led by the Early College Academy team.

Attendees were then treated to lunch from the Green Street Café, followed by an inspiring presentation from Senior Dean of Student Affairs, Jason Zelesky.
