Student Records

The Registrar’s Office supports students throughout their college journey. The team manages academic records, including classes and grades, and keeps information safe and accurate. The office also handles official college transcripts coming to and from the institution.

If you are a current student, please log into your iConnect account to view your records, check grades, register for classes, and complete most record-related tasks.

Transcripts & Diplomas

You can request official transcripts or order a replacement diploma when needed. Please note that some services may include a fee. Students who transfer to another college may also have the opportunity to earn a degree later by sending credits back to MWCC through a process called reverse transfer.

For step-by-step instructions on ordering official transcripts, please visit the transcript page. To order a replacement diploma, visit Parchment.

For GED/HiSET diploma/transcript requests, please visit Diploma Sender.

Graduation & Student Records

Petition to Graduate

If you plan to graduate, you must submit a Petition to Graduate by the deadline. The Records Office will review your progress and let you know if you still need to complete any requirements. To petition to graduate, log into your iConnect account.

Preferred Name

The college allows students to use a preferred first name in many places, like class lists and email, as long as it is not used for improper reasons. However, your legal name must still be used on official records such as transcripts, financial aid, and government documents. To change your legal name, you must provide official legal documents. For student looking to change their preferred name and for details, log into iConnect and navigate to the Records page.

Privacy And Student Records

We want you and your family to feel confident that your information is safe and protected. Here’s what you should know:

To prevent the release of your student directory information, you may complete the Confidentiality Request Form.

  • Current students can complete this form in iConnect.

To allow a third party to have access to information beyond student directory information, a student can complete a Student Record Information Waiver (FERPA Release Form).

  • Current students can find this form in iConnect.

  • Some students may qualify for extra unemployment benefits while in school through the Training Opportunity Program (TOP).

To get started at MWCC, you will need to make an appointment with an advisor.

The FERPA policy allows the college to release student directory information without a student’s consent to a third party (military recruiters, public officials, etc.). Unless there is a confidential designation on your record, the college will fulfill these requests.

The following information is considered directory information:

  • The student’s first and last name and middle initial
  • The student’s billing address
  • MWCC sponsored e-mail address
  • The student’s declared program(s) of study at the college
  • The student’s enrollment status (full- or part-time)
  • Degree or certificate earned and academic honors

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) affords students certain rights with respect to their educational records. Students are informed of their rights under this act through the College Catalog and Student Handbook
