Theatre at the Mount auditions and roles are open to ALL. Persons of all races, ethnicities, national origins, genders, sexual orientations, ages and ability statuses are given fair consideration for any and all roles.

Titanic The Musical

Cast Requirements – 14 principal roles plus ensemble (ages 18 and up)

Where: Mount Wachusett Community College, room A110 (formerly 182)
When: Monday, November 30 and Tuesday, December 1 at 7PM. All auditions are by appointment only.
What: People auditioning for principal roles should prepare and sing 40-60 measures of a solo from the show for the character which is their first audition choice, and which shows their vocal range. 

People who are not auditioning for principal roles may sing 32 measures of any song which best shows their vocal range. Bring sheet music for the pianist in the correct key.

Alternatively, people may sing The Star-Spangled Banner.

 Also expect cold-readings from the script for key roles.

Performance Dates: February 26, 27, March 5, 6 at 7:30PM; February 28, March 7 at 2PM

Tentative Rehearsal Schedule: Sundays from 6:00 – 9:00PM; Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 – 10:00PM

Character Descriptions

Principal Characters

THOMAS ANDREWS: Vocal Range: Baritone (A2–F4) Brilliant, meticulous, and quietly compassionate. Andrews is the ship’s architect, driven by pride in his creation and a deep sense of responsibility. His journey moves from confident optimism to tragic accountability.

CAPTAIN E.J. SMITH: Vocal Range: Baritone (B2–F4) A seasoned, dignified leader on his final voyage. Smith balances calm authority with mounting pressure from White Star Line and the weight of command as the crisis unfolds.

BRUCE ISMAY: Vocal Range: Tenor/High Baritone (C3–G4) Ambitious, image‑driven, and persuasive. Ismay pushes for speed and spectacle, often clashing with Smith and Andrews. His choices create one of the show’s central moral conflicts.

First‑Class Passengers

ISIDOR STRAUS: Vocal Range: Baritone (B2–E4) Warm, wise, and devoted to Ida. His steadfast love and integrity anchor the emotional heart of the first‑class storyline.

IDA STRAUS: Vocal Range: Mezzo‑Soprano (A3–E5) Graceful, witty, and deeply loving. Her loyalty to Isidor becomes one of the most poignant moments in the musical.

JOHN JACOB ASTOR: Vocal Range: Baritone (B2–E4) Affluent, confident, and protective. Astor carries himself with calm gentility and courage.

MADELINE ASTOR: Vocal Range: Soprano (B3–D5) Elegant, poised, and compassionate. Though young, she shows maturity and empathy as fear grows.

Second‑Class Passengers

ALICE BEANE: Vocal Range: Mezzo‑Soprano (B3–E5) Socially ambitious, comedic, and endearingly over‑the‑top. Alice longs for glamour and status, bringing humor and heart.

EDGAR BEANE: Vocal Range: Baritone (A2–E4) Practical, steady, and long‑suffering. Edgar is grounded and devoted, often exasperated by Alice’s aspirations.

Third‑Class Passengers

KATE MCGOWAN: Vocal Range: Mezzo‑Soprano (A3–E5) Determined, hopeful, and courageous. Kate dreams of independence in America and anchors the immigrant storyline.

JIM FARRELL: Vocal Range: Tenor (C3–G4) Rugged, honest, and protective. His connection with Kate brings warmth and optimism.

KATE MURPHY AND KATE MULLINS: Vocal Range: Mezzo‑Soprano (A3–D5) Spirited, supportive, and full of personality. They embody camaraderie among third‑class passengers.

Crew & Ship Staff

FREDERICK BARRETT: Vocal Range: Baritone (A2–F4) A passionate stoker with a romantic heart. Hardworking and earnest, Barrett dreams of a better future.

HAROLD BRIDE: Vocal Range: Tenor (C3–G4) Bright, dedicated, and youthful. Bride’s commitment becomes crucial as he sends distress signals.

ETCHES: Vocal Range: Baritone (B2–E4) Polished, professional, and unflappable. He represents the precision and hierarchy of first‑class service.

BELLBOY: Vocal Range: Tenor (D3–A4) Youthful, eager, and innocent — a symbol of optimism and the human cost of the tragedy.

Frozen Jr. is a magical musical adaptation of Disney’s hit film, tailored for young performers and audiences. It tells the story of Anna and Elsa as they discover the power of love, courage, and self-acceptance amid a kingdom trapped in eternal winter. With beloved songs like “Let it Go” and “Do You Want to Build a Snowman,” the show blends heartfelt storytelling, humor, and dazzling moments of icy enchantment.

When: Saturday, January 30 by appointment only; ages 8 – 12 at 9:30AM or 11:00AM; ages 13 – 18 at 1:00PM. All auditions are by appointment only.
What: AUDITIONERS WILL BE ASKED TO SING A SHORT VOCAL SELECTION THAT WILL BE TAUGHT AT THE AUDITION; AND THERE WILL BE A DANCE AUDITION, (combination also taught at the audition) FOR ALL ROLES AND CHORUS (wear appropriate clothing and footwear). Some performers will also be asked to do cold-readings from the script. 

Performance Dates:  April 3 at 11AM and 2PM (for the general public); April 6, 7 at 10AM and April 8, 9 at 9:30AM and Noon (for school groups)

Performances are held during school hours, so all cast members must be willing and able to take 4 days off from school/work. 

Tentative Rehearsal Schedule: Sundays from 2:00PM to 5:00PM, Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:30PM to 8:30PM, beginning February 7.

Character Descriptions

Large Ensemble of Kids and Teens (approximately 35 – 40)

Principal Characters

Elsa — The older sister with powerful ice magic she struggles to control. Reserved, poised, and deeply emotional beneath her calm exterior. Her journey centers on fear, isolation, and ultimately self‑acceptance.

Anna — Spirited, optimistic, and endlessly hopeful. Anna leads with her heart, rushing headlong into adventure to reconnect with Elsa and save Arendelle. Warm, funny, and fearless in her loyalty.

Kristoff — A rugged, good‑natured ice harvester raised by the Hidden Folk. Practical, a bit awkward, and surprisingly tender. His bond with Sven and his growing affection for Anna reveal his big heart.

Olaf — A magical snowman brought to life by Elsa’s powers. Innocent, joyful, and full of wonder. Olaf’s childlike sincerity brings humor and warmth to every scene.

Sven — Kristoff’s loyal reindeer companion. Playful, expressive, and devoted. Often the voice of Kristoff’s conscience—without saying a word.

Hans — A charming prince from the Southern Isles whose polished manners hide a calculating ambition. Appears heroic and kind before revealing his true motives.

Supporting Characters

King Agnarr & Queen Iduna — Loving parents to Elsa and Anna. Agnarr is steady and protective; Iduna is gentle, wise, and carries a quiet connection to the Hidden Folk.

Young Elsa & Young Anna — The sisters in childhood. Young Elsa is cautious and anxious about her powers; Young Anna is exuberant, affectionate, and eager for play.

Pabbie & Bulda (Hidden Folk) — Mystical, ancient beings who guide the royal family. Pabbie is a wise leader; Bulda is nurturing and full of earthy humor.

Oaken — The cheerful owner of Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post and Sauna. Friendly, booming personality with a memorable “Yoo-hoo!”

Weselton (The Duke) — A pompous, scheming diplomat eager to exploit Arendelle’s resources. Nervous energy and comic bluster.

Ensemble Characters

Town Guards — Loyal protectors of Arendelle, providing structure and urgency during the kingdom’s crisis.

Royal Staff — Courtiers and attendants who help establish the palace world and support key moments like the coronation.

Arendelle Townspeople — Villagers who bring the kingdom to life with personality, humor, and community spirit.

Hidden Folk Ensemble — Magical beings who support Pabbie and Bulda, adding movement, mystery, and atmosphere.

Snow Chorus / Ice Ensemble — Dancers or movers who embody Elsa’s powers, creating visual storytelling through snow and ice effects.

Our contract with Music Theatre International restricts casting to students through grade 12.
