
Mount Wachusett Community College (MWCC) is proud to announce that MassDOT Undersecretary of Transportation and State Highway Administrator, Jonathan Gulliver, will serve as the keynote speaker for the College’s upcoming Commencement ceremony.
Gulliver is a 1993 graduate of MWCC and a nationally recognized transportation leader with decades of experience delivering complex infrastructure programs and advancing statewide mobility initiatives. As Undersecretary and Highway Administrator, he oversees one of the largest transportation capital programs in the United States, leading efforts to improve system reliability, safety, and economic competitiveness across Massachusetts.
“We are honored to have Jonathan speak at the Mount Wachusett Community College Commencement this year,” said MWCC President James Vander Hooven. “We are very proud of his accomplishments. I might be a little biased, but I’m sure it was the fact that he graduated from MWCC that set him up for an extraordinary career in service to the Commonwealth.”
Over the course of his career, Gulliver has led major infrastructure investments and modernization efforts that impact millions of residents and businesses across the Commonwealth. His work underscores the critical role of transportation in supporting economic growth, sustainability, and quality of life.
MWCC’s Commencement ceremonies will take place on the Gardner campus on Wednesday, May 20, 2026. The School of Nursing and Health Sciences ceremony will take place at 10:00 am and The School of Business, Science, Technology, and Math and The School of Liberal Arts, Social Sciences, and Education will take place at 2:30 pm. Gulliver will speak at the afternoon ceremony.
