Paramedic Pinning Ceremony Celebrates Achievements of Graduates at Mount Wachusett Community College

Mount Wachusett Community College held a Paramedic Pinning Ceremony on January 23, 2025. The ceremony honors the achievements of the eleven students who make up its latest cohort of paramedic graduates, recognizing their dedication and commitment to serving the community.

Family, friends, faculty, and colleagues of the students were in attendance to celebrate the students’ accomplishments.

“It is an honor to be here to congratulate you this afternoon,” stated MWCC President James Vander Hooven. “You have chosen a field that is the epitome of a caring field. You will be with people in their darkest moments, their times of greatest need, and you have chosen to support them with your skills and your compassion.”

“Mount Wachusett Community College has a long-standing tradition of producing skilled, compassionate professionals who make a difference,” noted Dean of Nursing and Health Sciences Kimberly Shea, DNP, RN. “As graduates of this program, you now carry forward that tradition into a world that desperately needs your talents.”

The success of the MWCC paramedicine certificate program led to the recent addition of the Associate of Science in Paramedicine degree in addition to the certificate program. Students who have successfully completed the paramedic certificate program at MWCC are eligible to enroll in the newly launched associate degree program.
