Get Started With Accommodations

Mount Wachusett Community College (MWCC) is committed to providing equal access to programs, services, and activities for students with disabilities. Disability Support Services (DSS) works with students to provide reasonable accommodations that support access to learning and campus life.

Students who would like accommodations must register with DSS and provide documentation of their disability.

Currently enrolled students can access additional documents, forms, and resources through our student portal iConnect or contact studentaccomodations@mwcc.mass.edu or call 978-630-9855.

How To Register With Disability Support Services

To request accommodations:

  1. Complete the Disability Support Services Application.
  2. Submit documentation of your disability.
  3. Meet with a DSS staff member to discuss your accommodation needs.
  4. Work with DSS to develop an accommodation plan.

Students are encouraged to begin this process as early as possible. Some accommodations may take time to arrange.

For assistance with the application process, contact Disability Support Services at studentaccommodations@mwcc.mass.edu or visit Student Services.

Documentation Requirements

Students requesting accommodations must provide current documentation that supports their request.

Documentation may include:

  • Medical records or reports from a healthcare provider
  • Psychological or educational evaluations
  • Documentation from a qualified professional who can verify the disability and its impact

Documentation should describe:

  • The diagnosed disability or condition
  • How the disability affects the student in an educational setting
  • Recommended accommodations, when appropriate

DSS reviews all documentation on an individual basis. Additional information may be requested if needed.

Grievance Procedure

Students who believe they have been denied reasonable accommodations, experienced disability discrimination, or encountered accessibility barriers are encouraged to first contact Disability Support Services to discuss their concerns.

If the issue is not resolved, students may file a formal complaint through the College’s grievance process. Information about filing a grievance can be found through the Office of Equal Opportunity and Compliance.
