Early College Summit – POSTPONED

Logo for Early College SummitIn an abundance of caution, and with an eye on the icy forecast for tomorrow morning, we are POSTPONING the North Central Massachusetts Early College Summit that was scheduled for tomorrow, November 16, 2018 at Devens Common Center.

Stay tuned. We will be rescheduling the Summit, and will alert you as soon as we have a new date. We have been so heartened by the overwhelming response to this event-over 150 people responded yes-and we look forward to working together to design an early college program for students in our region that will provide opportunities for students to gain at least 12 college credits prior to graduation, as well as deep career exploration in different fields of study.

Thank you for your patience and commitment to this important topic for our students and our region.

Ms. Fagan R. Forhan

Assistant Dean, K-12 Partnerships & Civic Engagement

Mount Wachusett Community College

Partners in this initiative include Fitchburg State University, Fitchburg High School, Leominster High School, the Leominster Center for Technical Education Innovation, Gardner High School, and the Sizer School.

The Early College Summit will provide an opportunity to learn about the future of early college in the region and listen to our keynote speakers Massachusetts Department of Higher Education Chairman Chris Gabrielle and Commissioner of Higher Education for Massachusetts Carlos E. Santiago. This event will bring together members of the region including K-12, higher education, community, and business leadership.
