Free Adult Education Programs At MWCC

Mount Wachusett Community College (MWCC) offers free, site-based ESOL and HiSET/GED Prep classes on the Leominster Campus. Eligible residents from cities and towns throughout North Central Massachusetts may enroll in our Adult Education division, designed to help adults gain the academic skills needed to enter a college degree or certification program at MWCC. Free classes include high school equivalency preparation and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL).

High School Equivalency Programs – GED / HiSET

Don’t miss out on career opportunities because you didn’t finish high school. Earning your high school equivalency diploma (GED/HiSet) can help you start your college education, advance your career, or join the military. The Adult Education Program at MWCC will help you improve your reading, writing, and math skills in preparation for the GED or HiSET exam and prepare you for college and your career. Our preparation classes are FREE and are offered to students in need of their high school credentials.

English For Speakers Of Other Languages (ESOL)

Our English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) program provides FREE English classes to adults. In our ESOL courses, students learn to speak, read and write English with confidence. Beginner, intermediate, and advanced classes are offered during the day or night. The Adult Education ESOL program helps students learn English skills to help them enter college or advance in their careers. The ESOL program gets them ready for college and better jobs! All classes are in English. Students must be at least 16 years old.

Transitions To Community College

Transitioning to college can be challenging, let MWCC help!

If you are a student completing an adult education program, the Mount is here to help you with the next step in your education! The Transition to College program is a state-funded program that provides academic and financial support to help students succeed in college. Our Transition to College Counselor works with students one-on-one to help them navigate the college process, including accessing tutoring and career advising.

Free College Courses!

As a Transition to Community College student, you are eligible for five FREE college courses, and your books are free too!  Students are able to register for any MWCC college courses that align with their intended program of study. Areas of study students select to focus on include: Healthcare, Human Services, Business Administration, or the Mass Transfer Block Core courses, which will transfer to other MA state universities.

The program provides students with the opportunity to take classes on any MWCC campus as a part-time or full-time student. Students are eligible for five college classes as part of the Transition to College program, and there is no time limit, they can be completed over multiple semesters.
