General Admission Application

If you are a new student or transfer student, this application is for you unless you are looking for a nursing, dental, paramedic, veterinary or dual enrollment program. If so, scroll down to the see the specific application for those programs.

Our free online application takes about 10 to 15 minutes to complete and we do not require an essay or test scores! MWCC has rolling admissions, which means there is no deadline for the majority of our programs. In most cases, your application will be processed and you will hear back about your acceptance within a few days.

Mount Wachusett Community College is pleased to offer the Early College Academy – Degree Track opportunity to motivated students who would like to get a jump start on college. The goal is to provide 20 high school students, per year, the opportunity to earn their high school diploma and an Associate degree while completing their junior and senior years taking courses at MWCC.

Students enrolled at Athol High School, Clinton High School, Fitchburg High School, Gardner High School, Gardner Academy, Leominster High School, Leominster Center for Technical Education Innovation, Leominster Center for Excellence, Narragansett Regional High School, and Sizer School can apply for Early College Academy. Depending on the participating school, classes may be at the high school, at MWCC-Gardner or Leominster, online, or a combination of locations. For additional information, interested students should contact their guidance counselor at their school.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENT APPLICATION and Requirements

MWCC’s Pre-Healthcare Academy provides 2026 and 2027 high school graduates an opportunity to gain access into MWCC’s competitive health programs. Academy students who maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA throughout the program may enter MWCC’s Dental Hygiene Degree (DHY), Veterinary Technology (VTE), or Nursing Degree (NU) during the fall of their second year. Students who have completed more than 15 college-level credits toward their intended program are not eligible to apply to the Pre-Healthcare Academy. Instead, they are encouraged to apply directly to the Selective Healthcare Program.

APPLICATION AND REQUIREMENTS FOR THE Pre-Healthcare Academy

Earn college credits through Dual Enrollment courses at MWCC. This program allows you to earn credit toward a high school/homeschool diploma and college degree simultaneously, saving you time and money toward your college degree.

Dual Enrollment offers a unique true-to-life academic college experience, allowing the student to focus on courses that will be transferable to most two-year and four-year public and private institutions, while simultaneously completing their high school graduation requirements. Visit the Traditional Dual Enrollment page to learn more.

Selective Health Program Applications

Mount Wachusett Community College is an open-enrollment institution, but some academic programs have additional admissions requirements. These programs are known as Selective Programs.

If you are applying to a Selective Program, please follow the application steps below to ensure your application is complete and all required materials are submitted.

How to Apply:

  1. Complete and sign the application for your intended selective program.

  2. Download and save your application with your name and program. Example: SamStoneNursingApp2026

  3. Submit a copy of your completed application along with all required supporting documents* to Admissions by the priority deadline**. Your application will not be considered complete until all required documents have been received.

*Supporting documents include resume, official high school and college transcripts, and TEAS score report (if applicable).

** Priority Deadline for Selective Health Programs

The priority deadline is the date by which applications should be submitted for consideration during the regular selective admissions process.

Applications received after the priority deadline will only be accepted if space remains available in the program. The College reserves the right to consider qualified applicants who meet all admission requirements after the priority deadline when openings are available.

Before submitting an application after the priority deadline, prospective students should contact the Office of Admissions to confirm that space remains available and that applications are still being accepted.

Acceptance of an application does not guarantee admission to the program. All applicants must meet the program’s admission requirements, and admission is subject to available space.

    • May be able to substitute a higher level college math course.

    • Can use Placement Testing – including Accuplacer (must test at a higher level math than MAT 143), AP, CLEP, or DSST.

  • BIO 203- Anatomy and Physiology I (C+ or higher within 10 years)
  • BIO 204- Anatomy and Physiology II (C+ or higher within 10 years)
  • BIO 205- Microbiology (C+ or higher within 10 years)
  • ENG 101- College Writing I (C+ or higher)

Recommended Academic Requirements

  • PSY 105- Introduction to Psychology (C+ or higher) 
  • ENG 102- College Writing II (C+ or higher) 
  • SOC 103- Introduction to Sociology (C+ or higher) 
  • Humanities Elective- HUM 212- Medical Ethics Preferred (C+ or higher)

If you are interested in the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Walkway program, you will apply for the Practical Nursing program.

Admissions Requirements

  • Priority Application Deadline: Sept. 1st 
  • Official high school transcript or equivalency
  • Attend a mandatory Selective Health Information Session within one year of applying to the program
  • Submit a resume
  • Compliance with all required vaccines upon program start.
  • Satisfaction of TEAS Requirements
    • TEAS must be taken at MWCC and no more than three years old at the application deadline
    • Must meet minimum scores: Math (50%); Science (35.4%); English (53.3%); Reading (54.8%)

Minimum Academic Requirements

  • PSY 105 – Introduction to Psychology (C+ or higher)
  • MAT 126 – Tropics in Mathematics or MAT 143 – Statistics (C+ or higher, within 10 years)
  • NUR 117 – Nurse Assistant Theory (B or higher, taken at MWCC)*
  • ENG 101 – College Writing I (C+ or higher)
  • BIO 152 – Essentials of Anatomy and Physiology or BIO 203 – Anatomy and Physiology I and Anatomy and Physiology II (C+ or higher, within 10 years) 
  • PSY 110 – Human Growth and Development (C+ or higher)

All courses must be completed with the required grade on the first attempt in order to be eligible for the guaranteed walkway. Students wo do not meet this requirement may apply directly to the PN program once the requirements for that program are met.

*Grade of B or Higher earned in NUR 117, students who completed NUR 117 & NUR 118 prior to Fall 2023 must have earned a B+ in BOTH.

**CNA must be completed at MWCC. Automatic acceptance to the Practical Nursing (PN) Program is contingent upon successful completion of the walkway courses & all admission requirements. Students wishing to complete the CNA to LPN Walkway must attend a Selective Programs Information Session, complete all Walkway requirements and submit the Practical Nursing Application by September 1 for a January Practical Nursing Program start.

***Current CNAs who have completed their CNA course elsewhere must complete the NUR 117 course at MWCC for admission into the guaranteed walkway program. However, they will not need to sit for additional state licensure. Students who do not wish to complete this course may, instead, apply directly to the PN program once the requirements for that program are met.

Admissions Requirements

    • Priority application deadline: September 1
    • Submit official high school transcript or equivalency
    • Attend a mandatory Selective Health Information Session within one year of applying to the program

  • Satisfaction of TEAS Requirements

Admission Requirements

    • TEAS must be taken at MWCC and no more than 3 years old at the application deadline.

    • Must meet minimum scores: Math (63.3%); Science (45.8%); English (60.0%); Reading (69.0%)

Minimum Academic Requirements

  • MAT 143 – Statistics (C+ or higher within 10 years)
    • May be able to substitute a higher-level college math course to apply.
    • Can use Placement Testing – including Accuplacer (must test at a higher-level math than MAT 143), AP, CLEP, or DSST
  • 4-Credit human biological science course with a C+ or higher within 10 years. BIO 113 – Life Science for Allied Health is preferred.

  • BIO 203- Anatomy and Physiology I (C+ or higher within 10 years)

  • BIO 204- Anatomy and Physiology II (C+ or higher within 10 years)

Application and Requirements for the Nursing (RN) Program

Admissions Requirements

  • Priority application deadline: April 1st
  • Submit official high school transcript or equivalency
  • Attend a mandatory Selective Health Information Session within one year of applying to the program
  • Submit a resume
  • Compliance with all required vaccines upon program start.
  • Current Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) License
    • National (NREMT) or individual state accepted

Minimum Academic Requirements

  • ENG 098- Fundamentals of Writing or higher
    • Can take Accuplacer exam to place into ENG 101.
  • MAT 092- Foundations of Mathematics or higher (C+ or higher within 10 years)
    • Can use College Placement Testing to place out of MAT 092

Recommended Academic Requirements

  • ENG 101- College Writing I (C+ or higher)
  • BIO 152- Essentials of Anatomy and Physiology (C+ or higher, within 10 years)

Admissions Requirements

Minimum Academic Requirements

  • MAT 142- Mathematics for Healthcare (C+ or higher within 10 years). 
  • ENG 101- College Writing I 
  • Completion of a 4-credit human or animal biological science (BIO 109, BIO 113 or BIO 118 preferred) (C+ or higher within 10 years) 
  • Completion of CHE 107 – General Chemistry I (C or higher within 10 years) 

Recommended Academic Requirements

  • ENG 102- College Writing II (C+ or higher)
  • Social Science Elective- PSY 105- Introduction to Psychology Preferred (C+ or higher)
  • Two humanities electives (C+ or higher)
