Our Mission

The mission of the Division of Human Resources and Payroll/Affirmative Action Office is to ensure that all employment practices are conducted in a fair, equitable, and consistent manner while administering, communicating, and maintaining the College’s personnel policies and employment procedures. Employment decisions are made based on an individual’s credentials, experience, merit, and other work-related criteria.

The Division maintains a strong appreciation and understanding of all members of our community and each individual’s potential and talents by making affirmative action, equal opportunity and diversity an integral part of our mission. We accomplish this by operating in a manner that does not discriminate against any individual on the basis of age, color, race, religion, creed, gender, gender identity, national origin, national ancestry, sexual orientation, disability, military service, veteran status, maternity leave, genetic information, or any other protected category.

Cultivating A Culture Of Mutual Respect

In alignment with these principles, the College is committed to cultivating a learning and working environment where individuals are respected, supported, and empowered to succeed. This commitment extends beyond compliance to include the promotion of civility, ethical conduct, informed dialogue, and shared responsibility for maintaining a respectful and inclusive campus culture.

The President’s message on diversity and civility outlines the College’s expectations for behavior, emphasizes the importance of mutual respect and constructive discourse, and highlights the resources available to address concerns. It affirms MWCC’s dedication to creating a community where differences are valued, and every individual is treated with dignity.
