General Admission Application

If you are a new student or transfer student, this application is for you unless you are looking for a nursing, dental, or veterinary program. If so, scroll down to the Selective Health Program Applications.

Our free online application takes about 10 to 15 minutes to complete and we do not require an essay or test scores! MWCC has rolling admissions, which means there is no deadline for the majority of our programs. In most cases, your application will be processed and you will hear back about your acceptance within a few days.

Mount Wachusett Community College is pleased to offer the Early College Academy – Degree Track opportunity to motivated students who would like to get a jump start on college. The goal is to provide 20 high school students, per year, the opportunity to earn their high school diploma and an Associate degree while completing their junior and senior years taking courses at MWCC.

Students enrolled at Athol High School, Clinton High School, Fitchburg High School, Gardner High School, Gardner Academy, Leominster High School, Leominster Center for Technical Education Innovation, Leominster Center for Excellence, Narragansett Regional High School, and Sizer School can apply for Early College Academy. Depending on the participating school, classes may be at the high school, at MWCC-Gardner or Leominster, online, or a combination of locations. For additional information, interested students should contact their guidance counselor at their school.

Earn college credits through Dual Enrollment courses at MWCC. This program allows you to earn credit toward a high school/homeschool diploma and college degree simultaneously, saving you time and money toward your college degree.

Selective Health Program Applications

MWCC is an open-enrollment college, however, some of our programs have additional requirements. We call these Selective Programs. If you are interested in a selective program, please download and complete the application and submit it to admissions@mwcc.mass.edu.

  3. Request transcripts from all colleges other than MWCC
  4. Bring or mail your completed* packet to the Gardner Campus Office of Admissions by the application deadline

How to Apply to a Selective Program

Health Compliance Overview

Students enrolling in health science majors or courses are required to view this Health Compliance Overview video.

If you are interested in the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Walkway program, here are the steps and timeline you will follow:

1. Complete the General Application for Admission and select the Allied Health – CNA to LPN Guaranteed Admission Program as the program you are applying for.
2. Complete the following classes:

  • PSY 105 – Intro to Psychology with a C+ or higher
  • MAT 126 – Topics in Mathematics or MAT 143 – Statistics: Complete with a C+ or higher (completed within <10 years of application)
  • NUR 117 – Nurse Assistant Theory Complete with B or higher, and must be completed at MWCC.
  • ENG 101 – College Writing I with a C+ or higher
  • BIO 152 – Essentials of Anatomy & Physiology: Complete with a C+ or higher
  • PSY 110 – Human Growth and Development with a C+ or higher
  • HEA 106* – Exploring Health Careers *Note: Students starting the CNA to LPN Walkway during or after September 2025, HEA 106 is will no longer be a required course. For students who started in the CNA to Walkway before September 2025 and will be completing the LPN application for the September 1st deadline, HEA 106 with a grade of a B or higher is required.

3. While you’re preparing to enroll in the PN program, attend a Selective Information Session where you will learn about the admissions process for this competitive program, the requirements for consideration, and talk to faculty.
4. Sit for the state CNA licensure! Note: if you are already a CNA, you do not need to sit for the licensure, but you are still required to take NUR 117 at MWCC.
5. When required classes are complete and you are ready to apply, you will take the TEAS (Test of Essential Academic Skill) test, which is specifically designed to assess your preparedness for health sciences.

  1. TEAS must be taken at MWCC and within 3 years of the application deadline, September 1 and must be completed by the application deadline.
  2. Required scores are: Math 50.0, Science 35.4, English 53.3, and Reading 54.8.

6.  All students applying for the Practical Nursing program for the September 1, 2026 deadline must achieve the required grade on the first attempt for all pre-requisite course work to the CNA walkway.

7. Once you are done steps 1 through 6, it will be time to apply for the LPN program. You’ll apply by September 1 to start in January. Complete the Practical Nursing (PN) certificate application and submit it with all required documents by September 1.

  • Deadline: Sept. 1st | Start: Jan.
  • Verification of completion of High School (or equivalent)
  • Info Session: mwcc.edu/info
  • TEAS Exam: As of July 1, 2024 TEAS scores for Nursing may be no more than 3 years old at the time of the application deadline.
    Candidates must take the TEAS Exam at MWCC with the following minimum scores:

    • Reading (54.8%)
    • Math (50.0%)
    • English (53.3%)
    • Science (35.4%)
  • Required Courses: complete before applying
    • Topics in Mathematics (MAT 126) Complete with a C+ or higher (<10years) OR Placement out of MAT 126
  • Recommended Academic Requirements: Due to competitive admissions, applicants are encouraged to meet the Preferred Academic Requirements before applying.

What Do I Need To Enroll In The Registered Nurse Program?

  • Verification of completion of high school or equivalent

  • TEAS Exam: As of July 1, 2024 TEAS scores for Nursing may be no more than 3 years old at the time of the application deadline..
    Candidates must take the TEAS Exam at MWCC with the following minimum scores:

    • Math (63.3%)
    • English (60.0%)
    • Science (45.8%)
  • Required Courses:
    • Statistics (or higher) (MAT 143) Complete with a C+ or higher (<10 years) OR Placement out of MAT 143

What Do I Need To Enroll In The Advanced Standing Bridge Program?

  • Application Deadline: Feb 1st | Start: Fall 2025

For the 2025/2026 application cycle, the Advanced Standing Bridge program is limited to a specific cohort: applications will only be accepted from students currently pursuing their certificate in our Practical Nursing program with a December 2026 completion date. If this is not you, you can still absolutely pursue your goal of becoming a Registered Nurse with us! We strongly encourage you to apply to our traditional Nursing (RN) program, which has a deadline of February 1st.

What Do I Need To Enroll In The Paramedic Technology Program?

  • Prepare to sit for the Massachusetts psychomotor exam for paramedics and the written National Registry Exam for Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) as paramedics.

MWCC’s Pre-Healthcare Academy provides 2023 and 2024 high school graduates an opportunity to gain access into MWCC’s competitive health programs. High school graduates in this program who maintain a 3.0 GPA may enter the Dental Hygiene Degree or Nursing Degree programs during the fall semester of their second year.
