Earn free credits toward your Fire Science Degree
Join our exciting Fire Science Technology Dual Enrollment program! It’s a mix of online and in-person classes, and it’s free. Most of the time, you’ll have virtual classes during the week, and one Saturday a month, you’ll go in person to an area fire station to learn hands-on skills from seasoned firefighters. These classes meet high school graduation requirements and college credit toward the MWCC Fire Science associate degree.
Fall 2024 Course Offerings
Fire Prevention (FST157): This course provides fundamental knowledge relating to the field of fire prevention. Topics include the history and philosophy of fire prevention; organization and operation of a fire prevention bureau; use and application of codes and standards; plans review; fire inspections; fire and life safety education; and fire investigation.
September 4th – December 18, online and one Saturday each month
