On March 4, 2020, Mount Wachusett Community College welcomes Winchendon resident J. Robert Jennings for a college and community-wide discussion of his life and work as a structural engineer, environmental designer, architect, peace activist and co-founder of Noonday Farm, a nonprofit serving the residents of Winchendon with educational programs and free organic food to those in need. This event will take place at the Gardner campus in the Multi-purpose room from 12:30 – 2:00 pm on March 4th.
As a structural engineer, Jennings has designed the fabrication of over 500 large-scale sculptures for over 150 contemporary artists. His architectural work includes multi-purpose performing arts centers, the New England Peace Pagoda and Temple in Leverett, MA, and the Grafton Peace Pagoda and Temple in Grafton, NY.
Additionally, Jennings photographs and blueprints of many of his large-scale sculpture designs and Peace Pagodas will be on exhibit in the East Wing Gallery from March 4 through the 25. He will give a Gallery Talk about these projects in the gallery on March 11th from 12:30 to 1:30 pm.
