ACCUPLACER is a College Board placement exam used to ensure your placement in an academic course or in an ESL course that is best for you. Before electing to take an ACCUPLACER test, consult with an Advisor (Advising, advisor@mwcc.mass.edu, 978-630-9109) to discuss the multiple measures and guided self-placement options that should be used first.
How to Register: ACCUPLACER is offered by computer and takes approximately 2 hours to complete. Walk in to Testing Services, call 978-630-9244, or email testingservices@mwcc.mass.edu for more information.
On Test Day:
- Plan for a 2-hour exam period. Completion times may vary.
- Bring a valid Photo I.D. to present to the proctor: license, student ID card, high school ID, passport, driver’s permit, etc.
- Food, beverages, calculators, electronic devices, or personal items will not be permitted in the testing room. Storage space will be provided.
- Scrap paper and a pencil will be provided.
- Friends, family, and guests may not accompany test-takers into the testing room. Anyone not testing, including parents and children, must wait outside the Testing Services Office. Please read more about policies for MWCC Guests and Visitors on Campus.
- Because of the close confines and size of testing spaces, Testing Services strongly encourages all test-takers to wear masks.
Accommodations: If you require accommodation, please be sure to visit MWCC Disability Services to secure accommodation prior to sitting for your exam.
