MWCC Winter Coat Drive Distributes Warmth to Students

clothing hangs on hangersThe winter chill is here, but over 100 winter coat drive items will help keep Mount Wachusett Community College students warm.

The free items have been donated by caring faculty, staff, students and community members for MWCC student. The free items include winter jackets, dress jackets, gloves, scarves, hats, and boots for students in need.

“Students can come by any time and just grab something,” said Shelley Errington Nicholson, Director of the Brewer Center for Civic Learning & Community Engagement that coordinated the coat drive.

Nicholson said that the drop-in style distribution of coats was designed to make it easy for students in need of warm, winter clothing to pick up what they need. The self-serve items are located in the South Cafe of MWCC’s Gardner campus.
