Student Leaders To Show Off Their Service Efforts During 3rd Annual United Way Youth Venture Spring Showcase Event

Annalease Marino and Anjelica Marino from Sky View Middle School are pictured at last year’s United Way Youth Venture Spring Showcase where they talked about Project Paw that supported the needs of the Sterling Animal Shelter.

The United Way Youth Venture program of North Central Massachusetts will be celebrating student projects at their second annual UWYV Spring Showcase event at the Great Wolf Lodge in Fitchburg on March 8th from 5 to 7 p.m.

This is a chance for everyone, the public is invited to attend, to see the incredible efforts of students from more than 50 Venture Teams as they show off the work that they have done to support the needs of the region’s communities. These projects include supporting animal rights, helping veterans, and supporting the needs of impoverished youth both here in North Central Massachusetts and across the world.

The United Way Youth Venture program is a partnership between the United Way of North Central Massachusetts, Mount Wachusett Community College and Ashoka’s Youth Venture. The program exists to empower youth through support for innovative, community outreach proposals and help them gain essential experience that will help them to become the future leaders and innovators of our community. Throughout the past year, almost 8,000 students have been actively engaged in the United Way Youth Venture program, with more than 50 teams working to be the change they wish to see within the community.

This event gives the community an opportunity to speak firsthand with students and learn how they took their passions and concerns for the issues our community faces and transformed them into their own unique programs. In addition to meeting these teams, the Spring Showcase offers attendees the chance to network with other community members who are passionate about supporting our local youth.

Tickets for this event are available for a five dollar donation per person and you can purchase your tickets ahead of time by visiting: secure.qgiv.com/for/usss/. If someone is looking to become a sponsor of one of these Venture Teams, they can also use this link to learn more about sponsorship opportunities. This is a chance to not just celebrate the great work that these students have done in serving the community, but an opportunity for people to get involved in supporting the continued efforts of these Venture Teams.
