Applying for financial aid for the first-time can be an intimidating process, but thankfully monthly workshops are offered to help students and supporters through it by FAFSA Day – a non-profit, volunteer-driven program providing free assistance to students and families seeking to complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).
FAFSA determines your eligibility for federal and state aid, as well as financial assistance from your school. A completed FAFSA is required for all students looking for federal aid for higher education, whether pursuing an undergraduate or a graduate degree. Students who are not be fully committed to attending college right out of high school should still complete a FAFSA application in order to learn what aid they are eligible for and ensure that deadlines aren’t missed.
MASFAA, or Massachusetts Association of Financial Administration is hosting FASFA Days where they will virtually provide free assistance in filling out your FAFSA application. The next day for MASFAA’s FASFA Day is Monday, December 14th at 12:00pm. To register, or to find more information on FASFA Day visit masfaa.org/fasfaday. Or you can register here for the virtual FASFA Day.
