Vice President, Human Resources and Payroll/Affirmative Action Officer/Title IX Coordinator
Leading the Department of Human Resources and Payroll, the Vice President is charged with ensuring the delivery of services in all matters relating to employee recruitment, personnel and labor relations, payroll and benefits, and professional development; strategic planning relating to, but not exclusive to, HR strategies, perspectives and trends; implementing human resource policies and programs to support college initiatives; and determining appropriate institutional actions in grievance and dispute situations. Achieving this objective the Vice President provides direction for implementing three collective bargaining agreements and the State’s system-wide Payroll plan, creates and enforces policy, and assists with the resolution of disciplinary issues or other conflicts of interest.
Director, Payroll and Benefits
The Director of Payroll and Benefits oversees the execution of the College payroll through the on-line payroll system. Assisting the Vice President of Human Resources and Payroll with all payroll projections, updates, and actuals. The Director of Payroll and Benefits is the primary contact for full-time employee payroll questions. In addition, the Director of Payroll and Benefits administers the benefit plans and employee leave programs (e.g., unemployment, worker’s comp and sick leave bank) for all full-time employees as well as organizes benefit initiatives. The Director of Payroll and Benefits is also responsible for orienting new hires, conducting exit interviews and assisting employees who are considering retirement.
Director, Human Resources and Compliance
The Director of Human Resources and Compliance plays a key role in supporting employees by providing guidance on all aspects of collective bargaining agreement and policy administration. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Human Resources/Affirmative Action Office, the Director serves as the primary point of contact for employees seeking to understand best practices for creating and maintaining a positive work environment where everyone can focus on student success. Embracing the comprehensive community college mission and a mindset of teaching and learning together, the Director is a key resource for helping staff and students understand their rights and obligations in the workplace and for investigating alleged violation of those rights and obligations as required by law or policy, including but not limited to Title VII and Title IX.
Provides administrative support for the Vice President of Human Resources and Payroll/Affirmative Action Officer in regards to department projects, policies, and activities and performs liaison work between the department and the internal and external community. The Staff Assistant provides a considerable degree of decision-making and demonstrates a thorough knowledge of the functions of the College and the department and has a working knowledge of the related collective bargaining agreements and handbooks.
Administrative Assistant I
The Administrative Assistant for Human Resources is responsible for the onboarding of all new part-time employees, student employees, and work-study students. The Administrative Assistant processes and tracks all CORI and SORI forms, enters all new hires into the Banner system, provides employment verifications for all part-time and full-time employees, changes employees’ personal data (name, address, phone numbers) in HRCMS and Banner systems. The Administrative Assistant also provides monthly MCCC and AFSCME reports to the unions, maintains the AFSCME seniority list, tracks degree information for all employees, updates the employee directory in the online college catalog. The Administrative Assistant enters full-time attendance, addresses any questions regarding leave accruals and resetting of SSTA passwords.
Senior Payroll Specialist
The Senior Human Resources Generalist/Payroll & Benefits is responsible for the administration of a variety of human resources tasks and projects including running reports on employee data for internal and external sources, creating new employee entries and positions, and auditing various aspects of payroll. The Senior Human Resources Generalist manages the adjunct faculty payroll, oversees the duties of the Payroll Generalist, is a secondary point of contact for part- and full-time payroll, and serves as the primary backup for benefits information. Also responsible for accurately creating and maintaining part-time employee records in the payroll system and for reviewing part-time payroll transactions including ensuring time is reported and approved, reviewing best practice reports and auditing payroll.
The Staff Assistant for Recruitment is responsible for administering the online applicant tracking system and serving as liaison to hiring managers and candidates for employment. The Staff Assistant is the point of contact for hiring managers for assisting in job descriptions, creating postings and review of interview questions and hiring procedures. In this capacity, the Staff Assistant for Recruitment also organizes, tracks and files all supporting documentation for the recruiting process. The Staff assistant also works on special projects as assigned. In addition to recruitment, the Staff Assistant is also responsible for the calculation of new MCCC employee salaries using the M002/ M004 procedures. The Staff assistant oversees the duties of the information staff and provides updates and training when necessary.
The HR Generalist is responsible for the administration of a variety of human resources tasks and projects in compliance with policy, contract obligations, state and federal law and regulation. Contributes to department projects, policies, and activities; performs liaison work between the department and the internal and external community. Assists employees with leave programs (e.g. FMLA, PFML, MMLA). Assists employees with ADA and reasonable accommodation requests.

Information Center Staff Assistant
The Information Center Staff Assistant supports the College Information Center providing information to college patrons regarding the time and location of college events and acts as a liaison to both the Campus Police Department and the Facilities Department. The Staff Assistant works closely with the Division of Human Resources and registers staff and faculty for training workshops, places long-distance phone calls on behalf of employees, and maintains the College’s telephone directory.
