Foundational Certificate for Early Childhood Teachers
The ECE Foundational Certificate helps prepare students for entry-level jobs in early childhood education and care. This certificate is for anyone interested in the field of childcare, including those already working in early education settings, such as day care centers, who want to continue their studies.
Students will explore child development, learn key theories of early childhood education, and become familiar with different types of programs, such as family daycares and daycare centers. The program combines classroom learning with experiences in classrooms, including observation and practical training.
This certificate also includes the required coursework and experience needed for employment, as outlined by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (DEEC).
