Accommodation Process
Under the Americans with Disabilities Act, as amended (ADA AA, 1990, 2008) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act (1973), MWCC students have the right to self- disclose a disability and receive accommodations through Disability Support Services (DSS) at MWCC.
For a student to be eligible for accommodations through DSS, they should follow the process outlined below.
Step 1: Apply
Complete the secure, online Application for Disability Support Services (linked) or scan the QR code here.
The Application can be accessed once the student has a MWCC ID and email address.
If you have trouble accessing the link to this application, please contact DSS via email, phone, or stopping by the Student Services office (Monday-Friday, 8 am – 4pm).
Step 2: Submit documentation
For a student to be eligible for accommodations through DSS, they must provide documentation that meets our Documentation Guidelines (linked).
Recommended method for submitting documentation:
Documentation can be uploaded by the student via the secure, online Application for Disability Support Services.
Other methods:
Email: studentaccommodations@mwcc.mass.edu Fax: 978-630-9540
Hand-deliver to Student Services: Room H128, Gardner Campus
Step 3: Intake Appointment
After sufficient documentation is submitted and reviewed, DSS will reach out to the student to schedule an Intake Appointment. During the Intake Appointment, the student and DSS counselor will create an accommodation plan for their time at MWCC.
Intake appointments can be held in person, via Zoom, or over the Phone. In-person appointments on the Leominster campus are available on select days throughout the Fall and Spring semesters, or upon request.
Please Note: Disability Support Services (DSS) schedules intake appointments on a priority basis for students currently enrolled in the ongoing semester and upcoming semester.
Spring 2026: Intake appointments will begin in November.
Summer 2026: Intake appointments will begin in April.
Fall 2026: Intake appointments will begin in June.
NOTE: If you will need accommodations for the Intake Appointment, such as ASL interpretation, please contact DSS as soon as possible so this can be arranged.
Step 4: Requesting Accommodation Letters
Every semester, students desiring to use their accommodations will need to request that DSS send their accommodation letter to their professors. Students can request via email, phone, or in person by visiting Student Services (H128, Gardner Campus).
NOTE: DSS cannot send accommodation letters to professors without the student’s consent. Accommodations become effective only after the letter is received by the professor. Accommodations are not retroactive.
The implementation of reasonable accommodations can take up to thirty (30) days, especially if there is the need to request assistive technology, and/or ASL interpreting services.
*Students who require an ASL interpreter must contact Disability Support Services prior to starting the college admission process. MWCC does not have full-time ASL interpreters on campus.
Testing Services:
Students with approved and active testing accommodations who wish to test in Testing Services, should complete the Accommodated Test Request Form to book an appointment. The link to this form can be accessed by contacting either DSS or Testing Services via email or phone call, or by stopping by during office hours (Monday – Friday, 8am – 4pm).
This form should be submitted for every test/exam/quiz the student intends to use their accommodations on. The deadline to complete this form is 3 business days prior to the requested testing date. Students who submit less than 3 business days prior may not be approved to test on their preferred date/time. Late requests will be approved on a case-by-case basis.
Students may choose to walk-in to Testing Services during open office hours, but they cannot guarantee there will be time, materials, or assistive technology available to meet the student’s accommodated testing needs without them completing the form to book an appointment.

The resources listed below are available to assist MWCC students beyond accommodative support. While MWCC has a strong relationship with some of these organizations, they operate separately from the office of Disability Support Services and/or the college.
